  - prestressing can be defined as the application of a predetermined force.





  - In prestressed concrete section is in compression , so it is free from tensile cracks.

  - it is used in bridges and large span roofs.

  - It's disadvantage is its labour cost may be higher..

   - In prestressed concrete steel is used to apply force of prestress..
